About Smart Penny Path
Renting your first apartment involves more money and paperwork than most people expect. We write plain-English guides to affording it, finding a place safely, understanding your lease, and getting your deposit back when you move on.
What we do
We publish renting guides, a rent and move-in cost calculator, an apartment viewing checklist, the First Apartment checklist and a free printable First Apartment Planner. We send The Renter's Path to people who sign up for it, and we're preparing the Renter's Starter Kit, a paid printable kit.
What we don't do
- We aren't a landlord, listing site, broker or law firm.
- We don't earn referral fees from apartments, movers or insurers.
- We never ask for your Social Security number or bank details.
- We never sell or share your email address.
